At Hoodrat Productions, we make so much music that sometimes entire albums worth of music either gets completely reworked or scrapped in order to put out what we are looking for. So that’s why we are so often releasing albums and albums worth of free downloads for you lovely ladies and gents! The two newest releases are a new E.P. from Balky entitled “Ambition” and a 2010 release from Naztee entitled “Scrapz” which were originally songs which were to be featured on either the Livewire or Rhyme Zone albums, but were left behind in the rubble, hence the name. So here’s our latest endeavours and here’s to hoping that you enjoy listening to them as much as we enjoyed making them! Peace, Naztee :)

I am asked on almost an hourly basis what artists and producers have influenced me the most, and which artists I respected and grew up listening to. I’ve decided I’ll just make one simple list rather than attempting to think on the spot every time I’m asked. The lists are not necessarily in any particular order, just the order the came to my mind. That being said, here ya go!

Favourite MCs:
2Pac, Techniec, Raekwon, Rappin’ 4-Tay, MC Ren, Planet Asia, Prodigy, MC Eiht, Spice 1, Nas, Cormega, AZ, Ras Kass,
C-Bo, Brotha Lynch Hung
2Pac is the reason I got interested in Hip-Hop all the way back in ’93, and will always remain as my top rapper of all-time. Techniec is my current favourite emcee, and I have been a fan since I first heard him in ’94 as an LBC Crew member.

Favourite Groups:
Mobb Deep, Outlawz, Gang Starr, Capone -N- Noreaga, Wu-Tang Clan, NWA, Self Scientific, Cypress Hill, Rascalz, Lost Boyz, Tha Eastsidaz, Naughty By Nature, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony
Mobb Deep has been my favourite rap duo since ’95 when the Infamous dropped. Rascalz really showed me what Canadian
Hip-Hop was made of.

Favourite Producers:
Johnny “J”, Ant Banks, DJ premier, Warren G, Havoc, RZA, E-A-Ski, DJ Muggs, DJ U-Neek, Daz Dillinger, Mike Mosely, Rhythm D
From my first listen to “Pour out a Little Liquor” on Above the Rim’s soundtrack, I have been hooked on Johnny “J”. DJ Premier is to Hip-Hop what the brain is to the body.

Rest in Peace to 2Pac, Guru, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Eazy-E, Freaky Tah, and Johnny “J”. I am quite certain that I am not the only one who misses the amazing talents set forth by you all. Peace.

Video of random clips. Basically whatever I thought of for an hour, I recorded. Pretty ridiculous, really.

I realize that this is an older track now, but it’s still one that is very near and dear to my heart. The song is Unconditionally (Baby Girl) which is from 2010′s Martial Law E.P. It’s about my daughter, Alexis. This is just a quick video with clips from her growing up and having fun like she always finds a way to do! I hope you all enjoy watching as much as I did making it and living it :)
